Brentwood Elementary School Strathmore

Strathmore is part of the Golden Hills School Division and has seven public primary schools and three alternative schools. Strathmore also has two schools under the jurisdiction of Christ The Redeemer Catholic School division.

School sizes range anywhere from 200 to 700 students.

For residents in Strathmore, all public schools are within a ten minute drive, and many students often walk to school. Busing is available for students in need of transportation to school.

Golden Hills School Public School Division:

Strathmore High School – Grades 10-12

Strathmore High School is Strathmore’s largest high school. Approximately 700 students attend Strathmore High School. Strathmore High School also offers an international program that draws students from all over the world looking to get an Alberta Education. Classes offered include band, drama, cosmetology, foods, woodwork, and art.


George Freeman School – K – 9

Strathmore’s newest school is attached to Strathmore’s newly built field house. George Freeman School celebrated their Grand Opening February 27th, 2019.


Crowther Memorial Junior High – Grades 7 – 9

Crowther Memorial Junior High is Strathmore’s largest junior high school offering multiple classes for grades 7 through 9. Crowther Memorial Junior high offers a yearly camp for grade 7 classes, a ski trip for grade 8, and an Eastern or Western Canada trip for the grade 9 students.


Westmount Elementary School – Grades ECS – 6

Westmount Elementary School offers music for grades K-4, a Hockey program for Grades 5-6, Trained Support Staff, Connections to Indigenous Culture and much more.


Wheatland Elementary School – Grades ECS – 6

Wheatland Elementary School offers Fine Arts, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics), and Montessori programs.


Ecole Brentwood Elementary School  – Grade ECS – 6

Ecole Brentwood Elementary School is Strathmore’s only public school offering French Immersion. French immersion is currently being offered for grades 1 and 2, but parents can check with the school for the latest updates.


Trinity Christian Academy – Grade ECS – 9

Trinity Christian Academy is Golden Hill School Division’s only educational institutions that integrates religion with education. Trinity Christian Academy offers an education centered around Christianity. Trinity Christian Academy also recently won the Newsy Neighbor’s Best in Education Award against 27 other schools. Parents should note that TCA does requires students to wear uniforms at school.
