Summers come alive in Strathmore with one of the highlight event days being Canada Day.
Each year Strathmore residents and visitors come to enjoy Canada Day and the many free and family friendly events the town offers. Like most towns, Strathmore’s Canada Day features a day full of activities for all residents.
Activities around town usually start first thing in the morning with a free pancake Breakfast at Strathmore Firehall and opening ceremonies at Kinsmen Park. Stage entertainment and family events are then hosted at Kinsmen Park until the day wraps up with fireworks around 11pm at the Ag Grounds.
Past years events around Strathmore have included:
- Chili Cookoffs
- Canoe Races
- Bands and Singers on the Stage
- Bouncy Castles
- Miniature Train Rides
- Dunk Tanks and much more.
The events of 2018 included a Watermelon Eating Contest, a magic show, canoeing on Kinsmen lake, and a family festival featuring face painting, a petting zoo, potato sack races and a kid’s Ferris wheel.
While the events of 2019 are still being cemented, you can be sure that Canada Day in Strathmore will be a celebration!
